Goreme
Goreme is the undisputed heart of Cappadocia, a town quite literally carved into the volcanic rock and surrounded by towering fairy chimneys. Wake up before dawn to watch hundreds of hot air balloons fill the sky, explore the spectacular rock-cut churches and ancient frescoes of the Open Air Museum, and dine on traditional pottery kebab on a panoramic terrace overlooking the surreal landscape.
